    I know it's 2 years since the video was released, but I saw early in the video you had access to a lathe, why didn't you just remove the step that was too big for what you needed? The last guy probably rosette welded the sleve in like you did with your slug.

    Your stick out at 14:03 is WAY to much for that size/quality of lathe. Maximum should be no more than three times the diameter of the stock. 3/4” x 3 = 1 1/2”. Unless you’re using the tail stock to support the end.

    2:40 1. Oil makes zero sense in that scenario. 2. My initial requirement for my first mini lathe is to be able to rework drill presses with it. You've just reminded me why :) This amount of wobble shouldn't be present even on $120 Chinese drill presses. There's something seriously wrong with the quill or the taper.

    YOU'RE GOING TO BREAK YOUR BACK FORCING THAT TIRE ONTO THE RIM. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO USE THE LUBRICANT WITH A HAND MOP AND BRUSH IT AROUND THE BEAD OF THE TIRE THEN IT GOES ON EASY"" NOT SUPPOSE TO SPRAY THE RIM...😊

  • @clovishicks5735
    @clovishicks5735 Місяць тому

    OH AND REMOVING A TIRE FROM THE RIM WITHOUT REMOVING THE WEIGHT'S IS VERY DANGEROUS AND A SURE RECIPE FOR DISASTER AND RUINING YOUR NEW MACHINE...

  • @clovishicks5735
    @clovishicks5735 Місяць тому

    ONE THE WEIGHTS SHOULD COME OFF FIRST SEC" YOU SUPPOSE TO HOLD THE HANDLE AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE RIM AND TIRE TO BREAK THE BEAD""" YOU'RE NOT DOING THAT AND THAT'S THE REASON IT TOOK SO LONG TO POP FROM THE RIM. OLD TIRE AND RUST HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT😊

    A test bar between centres is the way to go if your tailstock is parallel to the spindle, if not that's a whole other issue.

    3 years later I know. The only issue is the manufacturer of the timer requires it to be at least 18" from the appliance. In this case it's not. Other than that it's a clean install.

    Your base and pad cost more than the tool. While I really like that idea and it will be useful, I'll probably spend a little extra and get the bigger tool that comes with it. I'm all for innovation sir but there's no way that thing cost even close to 25 to make, if bauer made the entire tool and sells it for 20 dollars.
